Meet Our 8th Edition Ambassador – Rafał Ogonowski (@ogon.tattoo)

For the 8th edition of the LOVEINK Ambassador Program, we are proud to welcome Rafał Ogonowski, known online as @ogon.tattoo. A tattoo artist based in Poznań, Rafał has been developing his unique artistic style since 2019, combining elements of cartoon, sketch, graffiti, and newschool tattooing. His work is full of energy, creativity, and distinctive linework, making it instantly recognizable.

From Miami Ink to a Tattoo Career

Rafał’s story proves how powerful dreams can be. His passion for tattooing began while watching the iconic TV show Miami Ink. Fascinated by the world of tattooing, the stories behind each tattoo, and the artists themselves, he decided that one day he would become a tattoo artist.

Despite facing skepticism and discouraging opinions from people around him, he never gave up on his goal. Today, he considers becoming a tattoo artist his greatest achievement, especially because he pursued it despite the doubts and negativity he encountered along the way.

Sketch, Cartoons, and Creative Inspiration

Anyone familiar with Rafał’s work knows that his heart belongs to graphic cartoon-inspired designs with a sketch-like touch. This style has become his signature and defines much of his portfolio.

Among the motifs he tattoos most often are characters from cartoons. Interestingly, even though he creates them regularly, he never gets tired of them. One design that used to appear particularly often in his work was the iconic Courage the Cowardly Dog.

Tattooing Is More Than Just an Image

For Rafał, tattooing is about more than creating artwork on skin. He has clear values and boundaries that guide his work. He refuses to tattoo symbols or designs that could offend others or conflict with his personal beliefs.

This authenticity and commitment to his values are also what led him to join the LOVEINK Ambassador Program.

As he explains, he wanted to collaborate with a brand that shares his approach to tattoo aftercare and believes in proper care for both fresh and healed tattoos.

A First Tattoo He Will Never Forget

Like every tattoo artist, Rafał remembers his beginnings very clearly. The first tattoo he ever created was a broken skateboard. He tattooed it on himself and still wears it proudly today.

However, the memory that means the most to him is the first tattoo he ever completed on another person.

Even now, he becomes emotional when thinking about the trust someone placed in him during that moment. For Rafał, it marked the beginning of a journey built on responsibility, creativity, and the confidence of his clients.

Where Does He Find Inspiration?

Rafał’s inspiration comes from many different sources. His surroundings, artists he has admired for years, and everyday experiences all play an important role in shaping his work.

One of his greatest sources of inspiration, however, is his daughter, Ofelia, who holds a very special place in his life and creative process.

The Biggest Challenge in the Tattoo Industry

According to Rafał, one of the biggest challenges tattoo artists face today is keeping up with constantly changing social media algorithms.

Talent and technical skills remain essential, but visibility online and effective communication have become equally important parts of building a successful tattoo career.

Advice for First-Time Tattoo Clients

When asked about the most common mistakes people make before getting their first tattoo, Rafał points to two key issues: choosing an artist based solely on price and selecting a design simply because it is currently trendy.

As he says:

"Trends fade, tattoos stay."

And it's hard to disagree with that.
